Kathy Andrade

Kathy Andrade was a Salvadoran-American union activist. Andrade first worked as an organizer in Miami and New York after arriving from El Salvador. in her 20. She was the Director of the Department of Education for the International Ladies Garment Workers Union (ILGWU) where she was responsible for worker and developed education programs in many different languages. Andrade held various positions in the Hispanic Labor Committee and the Labor Council for Latin American Advancement and pushed the garment workers’ union and the labor movement to take on the cause of defending immigrants. Andrade passed away in 2021.
