Gayle Rubin
Gayle Rubin is American cultural anthropologist, theorist and activist, best known for her pioneering work in feminist theory and queer studies. Rubin is an Associate Professor of Anthropology and Women's Studies at the University of Michigan. She is the author of notable essays in gender studies such as "The Traffic in Women" (1975), and "Thinking Sex" (1984). Her work has been considered foundational texts in queer theory and second-wave feminism.
