This collection consists of audio recordings of a presentation on lesbian history called “What Happened After We Came Out of Our Closets, or, Which Way’s the Street” and thought to be given by Wendy Hayes.
Wendy Hayes was affiliated with the San Francisco chapter of the Daughters of Bilitis, a lesbian social and activist group founded in 1955. She was an office manager of Sisters, a magazine published from 1970 to 1975 by the San Francisco chapter of the Daughters of Bilitis, and is listed as the magazine’s vice president in its penultimate masthead.
Sisters has been digitized in full by the Berkeley Library at the University of California.
